And most my words, they brush
The steeply sloping edge
Of nigh to almost right
That slow but sure decline
In darkness
This is where sparrows die
Like the forgotten smell
Of never budded roses

Grey night thoughts brush the dust
Of crumbling paper tomes
Wherein we read perchance
The remnants of those words
That failed in conversations
